Customers should therefore avoid assuming that Walmart will remain open until its usual evening closing time.
What Time Does Walmart Open on Christmas Eve?
Walmart’s Christmas Eve opening time depends on the store’s announced holiday schedule.
Many Walmart Supercenters currently list regular opening times of 6:00 AM. However, regular operating hours are not confirmation of Christmas Eve opening hours.
Check the selected store’s December 24 schedule before planning an early shopping trip.
Does Walmart Close Early on Christmas Eve?

A store that normally stays open until late evening may close several hours earlier for the holiday. The confirmed closing time for 2026 should be checked closer to December 24.
Is Walmart Open on Christmas Day 2026?
No. Walmart has officially confirmed that its U.S. stores will be closed on Friday, December 25, 2026.
In its October 7, 2026 holiday announcement, Walmart stated that stores would close on both Thanksgiving and Christmas Day, allowing associates to spend the holidays with their families.
This makes Christmas Eve the last opportunity for in-store shopping before Christmas Day.
Customers who need groceries, gifts, batteries, wrapping paper, or household supplies should complete their purchases before their store’s confirmed December 24 closing time.
Walmart Pharmacy Hours on Christmas Eve
Walmart Pharmacy may have a different holiday schedule from the main retail store.
For example, a Walmart Supercenter can have one set of operating hours for general shopping and another for its pharmacy. This distinction matters particularly on holidays.

Check your prescription status and confirm the pharmacy’s holiday schedule before visiting.
Walmart Grocery Pickup Hours on Christmas Eve
Walmart offers grocery pickup, but Christmas Eve ordering deadlines may differ from regular store hours.
In its December 9, 2025 holiday announcement, Walmart confirmed that customers could place eligible same-day pickup and delivery orders until 12:00 PM local time on Christmas Eve that year.
That was a specific 2025 holiday arrangement, not a confirmed deadline for 2026.

An available pickup slot is more useful than assuming that pickup remains available until the retail store closes.

Availability depends on the selected address, store, service, and order eligibility.

These departments have their own operating schedules, which may differ from the main store.

| Walmart Location | Regular Store Hours |
|---|---|
| Albuquerque, New Mexico — Wyoming Boulevard NE | 6:00 AM–11:00 PM |
| Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania — Route 19 | 6:00 AM–11:00 PM |
| Lubbock, Texas — Quaker Avenue | 6:00 AM–11:00 PM |
